Real change happens at the grassroot level
We take a practical approach to supporting First Nations communities, through mentoring, education, scholarships, and improving access to technology and digital skills.
The aim is to make opportunities more accessible, by putting the right tools and support in place and letting people take it forward.

Laptop Recycling Program
Our laptop recycling programme for Indigenous schools across Australia supports education, sustainability, and social good. It allows us to extend the life of corporate equipment by putting it back into communities where it can make a practical difference.
Don Dale Juvenile Detention Centre (2022, 2026)
in partnership with the Australian Computer Society
In June 2022, DidgeNet and the ACS, donated 70 laptops to the Don Dale Juvenile Detention Centre to support access to education for young people in custody. The initiative was driven by our Chairman, who, during his work with the Royal Commission, saw a clear gap in access to technology for learning. Each device was securely wiped and rebuilt by our team with a clean installation of Windows, ensuring safe and reliable use within the centre. The impact has been tangible. Within three years, the centre saw its first students complete their HSC, with more progressing through the program each year. Access to dedicated devices played a key role in enabling consistent study, coursework completion, and participation in formal education pathways. In January 2026, we refreshed the original fleet to ensure students continue to have access to modern, fit-for-purpose devices. This program reflects a simple aim, remove barriers to education and create practical opportunities for better outcomes.

in partnership with William Buck NSW
In October 2025, DidgeNet, and accounting firm William Buck NSW, supported Literacy for Life, a not-for-profit focused on improving literacy and digital literacy in First Nations communities. In some communities, adult literacy rates can be as low as 35%, creating a significant barrier to employment, education, and everyday participation. As part of this initiative, 55 laptops were donated to support access to learning and build digital capability alongside literacy development. The program’s goal is to lift literacy rates above 70%, where communities can sustain progress independently. Providing access to reliable devices is a practical step toward supporting that outcome and strengthening long-term capability within the communities involved.

In 2024, DidgeNet partnered with the ACS again and donated 50 laptops to The Murri School (Brisbane) to support senior students in completing their final year of study. Around 96% of students come from low-income Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Pacific Islander families, and the school often provides a critical pathway back into education. Each senior student received a dedicated device to support coursework, assessments, and research. Access to reliable technology helped remove a key barrier to completing Year 12 and staying engaged in learning during a pivotal stage of their education.

In June 2022, DidgeNet, in partnership with ACS, donated 20 recycled laptops to Tiwi College in the Tiwi Islands, supporting students and staff across a shared Western and Indigenous curriculum. All devices were securely wiped and reprovisioned, providing reliable access to digital tools for learning and teaching in a remote community setting.
